Engineered minds. Playable worlds.

We build the systems behind better games.

GameLabs is a founder-led engineering company for the games industry. We design and build the tools, infrastructure, and applied-AI systems that let studios and creators produce more ambitious interactive worlds.

Flagship Product

DragonKeep

Governed content infrastructure · in pilot phase

Game worlds, technical documentation, and project knowledge get expensive when they drift. DragonKeep is the governance layer that keeps them right: source-grounded answers with exact citations, contradiction detection against approved canon, and a fully auditable history for every draft, edit, and approval.

  • StudioGoverned narrative infrastructure for game studios and IP holders.
  • SystemsGoverned technical documentation for engineering teams.
  • CreatorPrivate world memory and continuity audit for individual creators.

One engine, piloting now with early partners.

Victory Conditions

One thesis, many artifacts: better systems make better games possible.

AI-driven gameplay

The games that define the next generation will use AI for runtime behavior — intelligent NPCs, systems that adapt under pressure, worlds that respond. Not generated cutscenes. We build these systems.

Games as art

When mechanics, code, and aesthetics are treated as a single canvas, the result isn't seasonal content — it's lasting culture. That's the standard we build for.

Tooling sets the ceiling

Every generational leap in game quality has been preceded by better tools. FORGE automates Unity asset pipelines. DragonKeep enforces narrative quality at scale. Both follow the same principle: give developers tools that match their craft, and the ceiling rises.

Consultancy

We also work directly
with studios.

Alongside product development, GameLabs takes on a small number of engagements: applied AI in games, and applied AI in the process of making them. Same engineer who builds DragonKeep, same standard.

01

AI in games

Runtime systems that survive production: NPC behaviour, narrative systems, adaptive content. Designed for real constraints — cost, latency, determinism — not for demo day.

02

AI in the development process

Pipelines, tooling, content governance, and evaluation. We build this tooling ourselves, so we know where automation genuinely compounds — and where it quietly creates debt.

03

Technical advisory

Architecture reviews, feasibility assessments, build-vs-buy decisions. A shorter path to the right call, from an engineer who ships the full stack.

Founder

Founder-led.
Hands-on.

GameLabs is built and led by William Ryder — engineer, game developer, and systems builder. Deep in games, fluent in applied AI, and in the habit of testing ideas by building them.

He ships DragonKeep end to end — engine, gateway, and interface — and works the same way with clients: hands-on, in the code, accountable for the result. When you work with GameLabs, that is who shows up.
